Each deal has a named manager responsible for the property — tenanting, maintenance, operating costs and the eventual sale. Their identity, track record and fees are disclosed in the offering documents for that specific deal.

This is a genuine risk factor and worth checking deal by deal rather than assuming it is the same party each time. What to look for in the documents:

  • Who the manager is and what they have managed before
  • How they are compensated, and whether their incentives align with yours
  • Who decides when the property is sold
  • What happens if the manager fails to perform

Wahed operates the platform. The manager operates the asset. They are not always the same entity.
