What’s in the package, and what isn’t
The headline price rarely covers everything.

- Flights, visa, hotel, ground transport, meals, and a mutawwif to guide the group.
- Usually not
- Spending money, extra ziarah trips, excess baggage, gifts to bring home.
The gap between 2 packages at similar prices is almost always the hotel — how close it sits to Masjidil Haram, and what standard it is.

Choosing an agency
Check the licence before you pay the deposit.
Confirm the operator holds a current licence. Ask for the number and check it yourself rather than taking their word for it.
Ask what happens if the trip is cancelled or postponed — and get the answer in writing.
Be careful with a deposit far lower than everyone else’s. It usually means the balance falls due sooner, or the package is thinner than it looks.
Visa and entry
Your operator usually handles it — but know what you’re waiting on.
Umrah visas are normally arranged by your agency as part of the package. You’ll hand over your passport and wait.
Passport validity is the thing that catches people out. Check yours early — renewing late is what turns a booked trip into a missed one.
Entry rules have changed several times in recent years. Confirm the current requirements with your operator rather than relying on what a friend did last year.
