But it is not instant. Because ESA holds an underlying investment rather than cash, the holding has to be sold and settled before money reaches your bank. Expect a few business days, in line with other Wahed withdrawals.

This matters for one specific use case: if ESA is your emergency fund, it is not same-day money. For a genuine emergency where you need cash within hours, keep a small buffer in an actual bank account and use ESA for the layer behind it.
