Closing is a two-step process and the order matters.
- Withdraw everything first. An account cannot be closed with a balance in it, and withdrawals take several business days to settle.
- Then request closure by emailing support from your registered email address.
A few things worth knowing before you do:
- Closing is not the same as going dormant. There is no penalty for simply leaving an account inactive with a zero or small balance.
- If you close and later want to return, you generally can reopen using the same details, but you start from scratch.
- Closing does not delete your records — Wahed is legally required to retain them.
