Mohsin

Mohsin is the Group CEO of Wahed. He joined Wahed in 2023, serving initially as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this, Mohsin was with UK–based RegTech ComplyAdvantage serving as its Chief Revenue Officer, tasked with leading its revenue growth objectives after its Series-C round of funding. Mohsin started his career at OANDA, a New York–based online trading fintech, where he served as the Chief Customer Officer and Managing Director. At OANDA, Mohsin grew OANDA's core presence in the U.S and Canadian markets and spearheaded its expansion into several APAC markets.

Khalid Al Jassim

Khalid has over twenty five years of investment banking and corporate advisory experience. He is currently the Chairman of Afkar Holdings and board member at Bahrain Islamic Bank and SICO. Prior to this, Khalid played an instrumental role at Arcapita, formings its vision, mission and strategy. Khalid holds a BSc. in Computer Science & Mathematics from California State University Long Beach, and an Executive MBA from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California.

Junaid Wahedna

Junaid is the Founder and Chairman of Wahed. He spent a number of years in Wall Street banking before deciding to establish Wahed, to tackle the challenges of financial mobility and exclusion. Junaid holds a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University. Whilst at Columbia, he also served as Managing Editor of the prestigious Columbia Financial Review. Junaid also holds many designations in finance, including the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance (CDIF).

Lori A. Richards

Lori is a former director of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). There, she led the national examination programme creating improvements in investor protection and industry compliance. She was a recipient of the Presidential Rank Award for Distinguished Service in 2001 (the highest civilian award in the Federal government) and the SEC’s Distinguished Service Award in 2008 (the SEC’s highest award). Lori received a B.A. from Northern Illinois University, and a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law.

Ali Rahimtula

Ali is a Partner at Cue Ball Capital, where he oversees new investments. Prior to joining Cue Ball, Ali spent many years in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) at Goldman Sachs, before joining the private equity firm Aquiline as a Principal, with a focus on financial services technology. Ali holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Jon Xu

Jon co-founded and was the Chief Technology Officer of FutureAdvisor, part of the first wave of robo-advisor solutions to make high-quality investment management available to the retail market. FutureAdvisor was acquired by BlackRock in 2015, where Jon continued to lead product design and engineering as Managing Director. Jon holds a Computer Science degree from MIT.

Richard von Kalmar

Dr. Richard von Kalmar is a Founder and Partner at Senga Bay Capital, a strategy and financial advisory firm involved in projects across Europe and Africa. Richard was a Partner at Bearing Consulting, where he focused on project finance, strategy and corporate restructuring assignments, mainly in Africa. He also served on the board of Re-action, a healthcare services business with around 200 employees and offices in London, Dar-es-Salaam and Johannesburg. Richard also spent many years as a Risk and Compliance advisor to many organizations. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Cranfield University's School of Management and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School.

William Haney

William is the CEO of Drawbridge, a cybersecurity solution serving the alternative investment industry. He has over 25 years of expertise in fintech, software development and information services and sits as a board member of many organizations operating in these industries. William also spent many years as Managing Director of Thomson Reuters investor relations services. He holds an MBA in Finance and Public Policy from The Wharton School.

Mohammad Al Qahtany, CPA

Mohammad is a Managing Director in the Investors Relationship Management team at Arcapita. He has over 20 years of management experience where he held several senior executive positions. Mohammad holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Kuwait and a Master of Professional Accounting (MPrA) degree with Honors from the University of Miami, Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Sir Iqbal Sakranie OBE

Sir Iqbal Sakranie OBE is the founding secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain. He received an OBE in 1999 for his work in race relations, charity and in a former advisory role to the Home Office. Sir Iqbal was subsequently knighted in 2005. Educated in London, Sir Iqbal trained as an accountant and went on to become managing director of family businesses.

Dato Dr. Afifi Al-Akiti PMP

Dr al-Akiti is currently the Kuwait Fellow in Islamic Studies at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and lectures at the Faculty of Theology and Religion, University of Oxford. He is also a Fellow of Worcester College, Oxford. He initially trained as a theologian in both the Islamic and Western traditions, holding a Masters (MSt) degree and then a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in Islamic Studies. In 2011, he was conferred the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP), and in 2012, he was the sole recipient of the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Cura Si-Manja Kini (DPCM) in the Sultan of Perak Birthday Honors List, gaining the Malaysian title of 'Dato'. In 2023, Dr al-Akiti was appointed as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Jordan by His Majesty The King of Jordan. Since 2010, Dr al-Akiti has been listed anually in The Muslim 500: The World's 500 Most Influential Muslims.
