Key Takeways:

If you're investing in real estate, opting in is important. It's how we notify you when property deals go live.
3
Without consent, you won’t find out about new property launches.
4
If you’ve already completed onboarding without opting in, you can join the waitlist to receive deal notifications.
5
Use the link provided in this guide to join the waitlist directly.

Where is marketing consent captured

Marketing consent is collected as part of the account creation process, specifically on the screen where you review your personal details before opening your account.

You’ll see:

  • A checkbox for accepting the platform’s risks & terms and conditions.
  • Just beneath it, a second checkbox that says something like:
“I would like to be notified before new real estate and ventures deals expire”

To receive notifications about new real estate launches, make sure you tick this box before tapping “Open My Account.” We regularly receive support queries from users who missed out simply because they overlooked this tick box while onboarding.

Why it matters for real estate

Real estate deals on the Wahed platform are not available at all times. When a new property goes live, it often fills within hours.

The only way to know when a deal is open for investment is through:

  • Push notifications
  • Emails
  • Occasionally, in-app widgets or waitlists

If you haven’t given marketing consent, we won’t be able to notify you even if your account is fully verified and you’ve selected the Real Estate product.

How to get deal notifications if you haven’t consented

If you’ve already completed onboarding but missed opting in to marketing, there's still a way to stay informed.

We occasionally add a real estate waitlist inside the app. By signing up, you’ll be notified whenever new deals go live.

For your ease, we’ve added it as a button below so you can join the waitlist directly from here and make sure you don’t miss out on new property launches.

Investing in start-up limited companies carries certain risks which can include (but is not limited to) illiquidity; a potential lack of dividends; loss of the entire Investment and dilution, and it is your responsibility to satisfy yourself that this risk is acceptable to you. The asset owned by the SPV you hold shares in is a property that receives rent, this will be paid to you and the other shareholders of the SPV in the form of dividends, net of any fees, costs and expenses payable. In the event that the property does not produce rent or the amount of rent received is less than the amount of fees, expenses and costs payable, no dividends will be paid. As such, there is a risk that you will not see a return on your investment. Making an investment should be done only as part of a diversified portfolio. This means that you should invest in relatively small amounts into multiple assets / SPV’s rather than one or two. Further, you may only want to invest a small proportion of your investable capital in any start-up business / SPV and other money invested in safer, more liquid assets. Past performance should not be used as a reliability indicator as future potential is unknown and is independent of past performance.
