Key Takeways:
Follow these steps to place your first investment and understand what happens next.
The steps are the same for Private Real Estate and the Real Estate Fund unless stated otherwise.
Before you begin
Make sure you’ve completed these steps before investing:
- Identity verification
- Real Estate onboarding for the option you are investing in
- You’ve reviewed your investor classification (accredited or non-accredited) and understand any limits that apply.
It’s also recommended to review the details of each opportunity and analyse the documents. These explain the investment structure, selection criteria, fees & costs and other important information.
Make your first investment
Step 1: Select an investment option
From the main dashboard, open Private Real Estate or the Real Estate Fund.

Step 2: Review the opportunity
Tap an available opportunity to open its details page. Here you will find detailed information about:
- The investment overview and structure
- Income & timeline
- Risk factors and offering documents
Read through the information carefully before continuing.

Step 3: Enter your investment amount
Once you’re ready to proceed, tap ‘Invest’.
The minimum investment is $500, and you can invest in multiples of 100. The app will automatically check that your amount is within your annual investment limit.

Step 4: Confirm your payment method
Once you confirm the amount, you’ll be taken to the Payment Method screen. You’ll see Bank Transfer as the available method. Select it to proceed.

Step 5: Link your bank account securely
You’ll be guided through a secure process to link your bank account. This is handled by our trusted third-party provider, Plaid. Your login credentials are never shared with us, and your information is encrypted and securely transmitted.
- Choose your bank from the list
- Log in with your credentials
- Select the account you'd like to use for payment

Once linked successfully, you’ll return to the app.
Step 6: Review your investment details
Once your payment method is linked, you’ll see a final review screen showing:
- The selected opportunity
- Your investment amount
- Your payment method
Carefully review all details before proceeding.
You’ll also be required to accept the platform terms and payment provider terms before continuing.

Step 7: Sign your Subscription Agreement
After accepting the terms and conditions, the Subscription Agreement will open for your review. This document outlines the legal terms of your investment and confirms your intent to purchase shares in the investment structure.
To complete this step:
- Review the agreement
- Enter your full legal name exactly as registered on your Wahed account
- Confirm to electronically sign the agreement
Your typed name acts as your electronic signature.

Step 8: Receive confirmation
Once you complete your payment, you’ll see an on-screen message confirming that your payment has been submitted. You’ll also receive an email acknowledgment confirming the same.

Shortly after, the invested amount will begin showing on your dashboard.
In most cases, no further action is required. Once your payment has cleared and all back-end checks are complete, you’ll receive a signed subscription agreement confirming your ownership. This may take a few weeks depending on administrative timelines.
In some cases, additional verification may be required before the investment is finalized. If that happens, our team will contact you directly to complete the process.
Investment limits
Your maximum investment is automatically calculated during onboarding based on your income or net worth. The app will prevent you from exceeding your annual limit.
In addition, all investors (both accredited and non-accredited) are subject to our payment provider’s transfer restrictions:
- $20,000 per transaction
- $20,000 per week across Wahed Real Estate investments
If you reach these limits, you can resume investing once the weekly window resets.

We aim to make quarterly distributions for both Private Real Estate and the Real Estate Fund.
Private Real Estate: at exit after the expected holding period. Real Estate Fund: via semi-annual redemption windows (subject to the fund’s terms).
What happens after you invest
Private Real Estate (individual properties)
Once your investment is finalized:
- You become a shareholder in the entity that holds the specific property
- We aim to pay rental distributions quarterly, proportionate to your ownership
- You remain invested until the property reaches its expected holding period, after which the property is sold and proceeds are distributed according to your shareholding
Always check the property page for the expected holding period and key terms.
This investment is specific to the selected property. Once the raise closes, additional investments into the same property are not possible.
Real Estate Fund
Once your investment is finalized:
You become a shareholder in the fund structure.
The fund remains open for additional investments, so you may add more at any time without waiting for a new offering.
We aim to pay distributions quarterly, proportionate to your ownership.
The fund does not have a fixed holding period like an individual property. Instead, it offers semi-annual redemption windows where you may request an exit, subject to the fund’s terms and available liquidity.
Always refer to the fund page for the latest redemption timing and conditions.
Properties are one-time opportunities, while the fund supports ongoing contributions.
