After You Confirm Your Investment

When you complete an investment in the app, your request is immediately recorded and you’ll receive a confirmation screen and email showing the amount and opportunity.

At this stage nothing else is required from you. The transaction now moves into settlement and regulatory processing handled by our payment and transfer partners.

Your investment may appear in the app shortly after submission, but it becomes legally active only after payment settlement and verification checks are complete.

Payment Processing and Checks

Bank transfers take a few business days to settle. During this time we complete standard regulatory checks required for U.S. securities investments.

These include verifying investor details, validating the transfer and confirming eligibility requirements. These checks protect both investors and the investment structure.

Most investors will not notice this step. We only contact you if additional information is required. If you don’t hear from us, the process is progressing normally.

Ownership Confirmation

Once payment clears and checks complete, your investment becomes official.

Your subscription agreement is countersigned and your ownership interest is issued electronically. You now hold shares in the investment structure itself.

For Private Real Estate, this means shares in the specific Series LLC that owns the property. For the Real Estate Fund, it means shares in the Real Estate Fund Series 1 LLC that owns the fund.

From this point onward, you are fully invested and eligible for future distributions.

Continuing to Invest

After your ownership is recorded, what you can do next depends on the investment type.

Private Real Estate (individual properties)

Each property offering is available only while its funding round is open.
Once the property is fully funded and closed, no additional investments can be added to that specific property.

If you want to invest again, you can participate in future property opportunities when they become available in the app.

Real Estate Fund

The Real Estate Fund works differently. It accepts ongoing investments.

You can return to the app at any time and add more funds. Each contribution increases your ownership in the same diversified portfolio and will be reflected in future distributions.

Every additional investment is processed separately but your account setup remains unchanged.

Because of this, many investors gradually build their position over time rather than investing only once.

How long does it take for my investment to finalize?

Usually just a few business days, depending on your bank’s transfer time and completion of compliance checks. If additional information is needed, we’ll contact you directly.

When will I receive my first payment?

For properties, after the first full rental quarter following your investment. For the fund, quarterly distributions begin once capital has been deployed and may take up to around 120 days initially.

Can the first payment be smaller?

Yes. If you invested partway through a quarter, the first payment may only cover the period you were invested.

Can I cancel after investing?

No. Once ownership shares are issued, investments cannot be reversed.

Are payments guaranteed?

No. Distributions depend on property occupancy, expenses and overall performance.

Where can I track my investment?

You can view your holdings and documents directly in the app dashboard.

When Income Starts

Private Real Estate (Individual Properties)

Income begins only after the property is acquired and actively generating rent. Because distributions follow full rental quarters, the first payment will be the next completed quarter after your investment.

For example, if you invest in February, the first full quarter ends in June and your first payment would typically be around mid-July.

After the first payment, distributions follow the normal quarterly schedule (January, April, July and October).

Your payment represents your proportional share of the property’s net rental income after expenses.

Real Estate Fund

The fund collects rent across multiple properties and distributes available income quarterly.

Because capital must first be deployed into properties and leases activated, the first distribution may be prorated and can take up to approximately 120 days.

After the initial period, distributions continue quarterly based on portfolio performance.

Because the fund accepts ongoing investments, any additional contributions you make will increase your share of future distributions.

Ongoing Updates and Reporting

Once invested, you do not manage the property or portfolio yourself. Wahed handles administration, tenant coordination, reporting and compliance.

During the investment you will receive:

  • distribution notifications
  • important investment updates
  • access to offering documents in the app
  • annual reporting information

If there are material changes affecting the investment, you will always be informed.

Taxes and Documents

Real estate investments generate taxable income under U.S. law.

Each year you will receive Form 1099 reporting your share of income and distributions. These are typically issued by the end of March following the tax year.

Wahed does not withhold federal tax from distributions and does not provide tax advice. Investors should consult their tax adviser if needed.

Exit and Liquidity

Private Real Estate

Private Real Estate is designed as a long-term investment. Properties are typically held for several years.

At the end of the holding period, the property will be sold.

After the sale is complete, proceeds are distributed among all investors according to their shareholding in the Series LLC.

This payment is separate from your quarterly rental income and represents your share of any potential capital appreciation from property’s sale. You’ll receive an email update when the property exits and another when proceeds are sent to your account.

This payment closes the investment.

Real Estate Fund

The fund offers liquidity through scheduled redemption opportunities rather than waiting for a single property sale.

After a six-month lock period, investors may request withdrawal. Fees reduce the longer the investment is held, with no redemption fee after long-term holding.

Redemptions are processed according to available liquidity and fund terms.

What You’ll Receive Over Time

During the full lifecycle you may receive:

  • Investment confirmation email
  • Countersigned agreement
  • Quarterly income notifications
  • Important updates
  • Annual tax documents
