You'll see a list of Wahed's products. For real estate investing, select "Real Estate" and tap Get Started.
Enter your personal details
We'll ask for your full legal name, date of birth, and current residential address. This is a standard step to confirm you're eligible to invest.

Verify your identity (KYC)
This is a standard security step. It protects you and ensures only you can access your account. As a platform regulated by the Securities Commission Malaysia, we're required to verify your identity before you can invest.
Here's what it involves:
- Upload a clear photo of your ID
- Take a selfie so we can match it to your ID
It's quick and done entirely in the app.
Explore the app while we verify your identity
Verification is usually completed within a few minutes to a few hours. If we need anything else from you, we'll let you know via email.
While you wait, feel free to browse our current deals.
Almost there
Once your KYC is approved, your Wahed account is set up. Before you make your first Real Estate investment, there are three quick steps to complete.
These aren't obstacles. They're here to make sure you go in with a clear picture of what to expect.
1. Make two short declarations
Bankruptcy status. Due to regulatory requirements, we're unable to open investment accounts for undischarged bankrupts.
Bumiputera status. This has no effect on your eligibility to invest. We collect this information to determine the ownership profile of the property partnership when a deal closes.
2. Complete a short questionnaire
Three questions, just "yes" or "no." We designed this to make sure you're comfortable with how real estate investing works before you commit. Here's what we'll ask about:
The holding period. Unlike stocks, property can't be sold instantly. You should be comfortable holding your investment for the projected 5–6 years.
Variable returns. In a Shariah-compliant model, your profit comes from the actual rental income earned and the property's appreciation over time — not a fixed rate. This is how it should be: your returns reflect real performance.
Risk factors. Returns could come in lower than projected if the property sits vacant, maintenance costs rise, or the market value dips. These are real possibilities and worth knowing upfront. Most deals perform within projected ranges — we just want you going in with eyes open.
3. Declare your investor type
You'll select whether you're a Retail, Accredited, or Sophisticated investor. If you're new to investing, you're almost certainly a Retail investor. That's completely fine and doesn't limit your access to deals.
